## VS Code Extension
### Installation
1. Open VS Code Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
2. Search for "Claude Code"
3. Install the official Anthropic extension
4. Or: `code --install-extension anthropic.claude-code`
### Features
- **Inline chat** — Ask Claude about selected code
- **Terminal integration** — Claude Code runs in VS Code terminal
- **File context** — Automatically shares open file context
- **Diff view** — Shows proposed changes as diffs

Claude Code can be used alongside Vim/Neovim via terminal split:

## Troubleshooting IDE Issues
### VS Code Extension Not Loading
1. Check VS Code version (requires 1.80+)
2. Ensure Claude Code CLI is installed globally
3. Check Output panel → "Claude Code" channel for errors
4. Restart VS Code
### Terminal Not Rendering Properly
1. Ensure terminal supports Unicode
2. Check TERM environment variable
3. Try `export TERM=xterm-256color`
4. Increase terminal font size
### Permission Issues in IDE
1. Check `.claude/settings.json` permissions config
2. Ensure IDE terminal has access to shell profile
3. Check proxy settings if behind firewall
