# NewMail AI Platform Help

Helps with everything related to using NewMail AI — an AI email assistant that drafts replies in your voice, prioritizes your inbox, extracts tasks from emails, generates daily briefings, and creates scheduling links. Works with Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail. Positions as a more affordable, assistant-like alternative to Superhuman.

## Step 1 — Gather context

## Step 2 — Route or answer directly

## Step 3 — NewMail AI platform reference

## Step 4 — Actionable guidance

You no longer need the platform guide — focus on the user's specific situation.

**For improving AI drafts:**
1. Send more emails manually — NewMail learns from your writing style over time
2. Use natural language adjustments: "make this concise" or "sound more friendly"
3. Add FAQ + Links in settings so drafts include relevant resources automatically
4. If tone is consistently off after 2+ weeks, your sent history may not reflect your desired voice

**For inbox categorization issues:**
1. Categories use plain English — be specific when defining them (e.g., "client follow-ups" not "important")
2. Adjust AI assertiveness level in settings (frequent vs minimal prompts)
3. Give it 1-2 weeks to learn your patterns from corrections

**For task extraction issues:**
1. Task extraction works best with clear action items in emails ("please send", "can you review")
2. Vague requests may be missed — the AI prioritizes explicit asks
3. Check extracted tasks daily via the daily briefing to catch and correct misses

## Gotchas

*Best-effort from research — review these, especially items about plan-gated features and pricing that may change.*

- **No public API, no webhooks, no Zapier/Make.** NewMail AI is UI-only — no programmatic access. If you need automation, consider Inbox Zero (REST API) or Superhuman (MCP server).
- **Pricing is inconsistent across sources.** Some pages show $12/mo, $15/mo, or $20/mo for the entry-level paid plan. Verify on the pricing page before purchasing.
- **Free preview is very limited (~50 emails).** Enough to test AI drafting quality but not for real daily use.
- **CRM/Slack integration details are vague.** The website mentions CRM and Slack sync but doesn't document which CRMs or how the sync works. Test during the free preview.
- **Apple Mail support scope is unclear.** Gmail and Outlook are primary; Apple Mail may have limited features compared to the other providers.
- **Enterprise requires custom pricing.** No self-serve plan for teams — you must contact sales for 20+ seats.
